I blame Will from NCSS, for getting me hocked on Techno and Trance. I am now downloading “legally”(possibly) a whole heap of Trance and Techno as they have become stuck in my head. BUT. I will never leave my punk rock. Yes this is a usless post but “IS THIS NOT A DREAM!?!?!”

Microsoft releases Vista debugging tool
Vista cliams to be stable but when things do go wrong you want a backup. MS released in a news press that it’s new debugging tool will be included inside all new vista releases free of charge. The debugging tool comes with sevral features and uses, it can unfreeze machines, remove errors, clear the hard drive and can also be used to remove and add system hardware. The debugging tool light wight, easy to use comes with 2 modes. The tool doesn’t require a OS to be installed before using which makes the tool good to use on XP or any other Microsoft operating system you may require it for. The tool has no liciense but is nearly impossible to clone or copy, although free/lower cost, debugging tools can be bought at some stores. The debugging tool currently has the codename “Hammer” and it’s 2 modes are “hit as hard as possible” and “Use the other end to rip shit out”. Although this tool is usfull MS has adviced that it only be used in real emergencies as it MAY cause dataloss or hardware faults. The purpose of the tool is to fix any freezes or crashs and at the same time controlling stress. The tool has 4 differnt classes, Home user(”Hammer”), Small to medium buisness(”Hatchet”), Enterprise(”Sledge Hammer”) and Datacenter(”Explosive Charge Version”).

NCSS 2007
Just came back from NCSS ‘07 . I had a great time. If you didn’t know already, NCSS is National Computer Science School. It’s run yearly for a week by theuniversity of Sydney and we take part in programing as a group a search engine as group and a website, this year it was Hands of Help which got a redesign. Our version of the site can be seen here, though I only worked on the search engine and not the website. The search engine was built with python, which many of us hadn’t used before. Over this week we had python lectures, web lectures, trips to Microsoft and IBM, free time, group bonding activitys and last but not least “Kens Morning Games” which has the motto “It’s fun and you meet people”. On the last night we ended up staying up the whole night rushing to get the search engine working and listening to Techno Music. At the awards ceremony alot of us were half asleep or asleep. I my self made some great friends and had a fun time and learnt a new programming language “python” which I have decided to continue learning as the easy of use and good programming practices are extremly useful. After arriving at home I had the fun task of setting up my server has it had crash while away (some sort of motherboard problem). Now I have a nice Compaq Proliant DL380, with 2 x 1ghz CPUs’, 4 x 9.1gb SCSI hard drives raided to create a nice huge hard drive, 2 x PSU incase one fails. FreeBSD is setup on it now and the server is running fine with 100% idle. Now what? xD
Google!
Well I have seemed to talk about MS and IBM and I nearly forgot about our legends Google. On the Friday night everyone was rushing to finish their code before the presentation. Basiclly we stayed up all night (well the ones that didn’t fall asleep under the computer desks [refering to jack]). Google supplied the whole of NCSS with 50 to 60 odd pizza’s and each rep dedicated to the teams supplied a massive load of sugar, and carbs (refering to the large ammount of nacho’s, choclate, lollies, and soft drink) to keep us through the night. In the morning the code was finished and all went well. Google even gave out free google pens.
